Mission & Philosophy
Mission
Rooted in our Catholic and Viatorian identity, St. Viator School is a PreK–8 community that embraces each child’s unique, God-given potential. We commit ourselves to fostering an inclusive culture where barriers are removed and all are seen, valued, and supported.
Together with Jesus Christ and supported by parents as the primary educators, we strive to form students who serve others with empathy, integrity, and love. Through academic excellence and meaningful service opportunities our students emerge as leaders who are committed to Catholic social teaching. At St. Viator, tradition is valued, relationships are nurtured, and the dignity of every human person is upheld as we strive to be a living sign of what is possible in Catholic education.
Philosophy
We, as educators of the students of St. Viator Parish School, hold. as primary, belief in God. We continuously strive to work towards a deeper understanding of each student as a unique individual. We encourage the development of a positive self-image in all members of our school community. We recognize and support the role of parents as primary educators of their children. We guide our students to become spiritually, academically, socially responsible and well-rounded members of society consistent with Church doctrine and in light of the pertinent documents on Catholic Education. We encourage them to lead a full meaningful life in Christ and recognize the value of Christian Community. Our teaching is based on our continuously updated understanding of the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church.
