Catholic Schools Accreditation

St. Viator Catholic School is accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA).  WCEA accredits catholic elementary and secondary schools in nine western states (26 (arch) dioceses) and the US Territory of Guam.  WCEA co-accredits and is in partnership with three regional agencies (WASC, NAAS, NCA  CASI) and two private agencies (CAIS and HAIS).  WCEA began in 1957 in San Francisco and has a long and successful history of assisting school improvement through the accreditation process.

Admission Guidelines


Thank you for your interest in St. Viator School. We extend a warm welcome to you and your family. To the right you will find an admissions packet along with additional information to introduce you to our school.

St. Viator School is proud of its rich tradition of academic excellence within a vibrant faith community. Strong moral values integrated throughout our challenging academic program prepare our children for educational success. St. Viator School strives to provide a curriculum which imparts both physical and academic skills combined with knowledge and attitudes that will enable our students to learn and act with self-confidence in an ever-changing world. We continually strive to identify each student’s unique talents and abilities in order to foster and develop a sense of individuality and interdependence as well as a realistic self concept. We also recognize and support the role of parents as the primary educators of their children. Together we can guide our students in accordance with Church teachings to become spiritually, academically, and socially responsible members of society.

St. Viator School is a very special place. We encourage you to visit and experience our wonderful community for yourself. Opportunities to visit are available at the following times:

  • Open House for Grades 1-8 is February 5th after the 8:15 AM Liturgy
  • Open House for PreKindergarten and Kindergarten from 2:45 to 3:15 PM on Wednesday, January 6 and 20, and February 10 and 24 by appointment only.
  • Private Tours for Gr. 1-8 at your convenience by appointment only.

 


Order of Admission

St. Viator School may have fewer openings at a grade level than applications.  An email letter of acceptance, rejection or placement on the waiting list will be sent to each family applying for admission.  Acceptance should not be presumed. 

  1. Parishioners with a child currently enrolled in the school.
  2. Parishioner.
  3. Non-parishioner Catholic with a child enrolled in the school.
  4. Non-parishioner Catholic.
  5. Non-Catholic with a child enrolled in the school.
  6. Non-Catholic

* The term "parishioner" is defined as: Any family who is registered and regularly attending Mass known through the use of St. Viator Church envelopes, or families who have a Parish Affidavit signed by the Pastor of St. Viator Church or the Pastor of St. Thomas More Church.

 


Age Requirements for Admission

Prekindergarten—Students must be four years old before October 1st.

Kindergarten—Students must be five years old before October 1st.

Grade 1—Students must be six years old before October 1st.

    • All prospective prekindergartners must complete a Child Information Form with their application.
    • All prospective kindergartners and first graders will be tested to prevent school failure through early identification of developmental learning deficiencies that would adversely affect their school performance.
    • Transfer students will undergo testing prior to their admittance.  

 


Requirements for transfer students

  • All students must complete the application packet and submit with the $50 application fee.
  • Grades 2-5 transfer students:  When the application packet is received a testing appointment will be set up for the student. 
  • Junior High students:  When the application packet is received an interview and testing appointment will be set for the student and parents.
