Excessive Absences

Excessive absences hinder the integrity of a student's academic progress.  A student will be placed (rather than promoted) into the next grade if there are more than twenty absences for that school year.   Summer school and/or tutoring may be recommended to ensure promotion.

Daily Attendance

Regular and punctual attendance is required.  Students are to be in their classrooms before the 8:00 AM bell rings. Any student arriving after 8:00 AM will be admitted by obtaining a late slip in the school office.

A student will be marked half day when:  more than one hour and fifty-five minutes have been missed, regardless of when in the day the student is out.

 A student will be marked absent when:  more than three hours and forty-five minutes of the instructional day are missed, regardless of when in the day the student is out.

To Report Absences/Tardies

 Please:   Call (732-4477 ext 104) or email Catherine Cobeaga, Attendance Secretary.

Give your child's name, room number and the reason for the absence or tardy.

Your cooperation is appreciated.

Early Dismissal

Students are to bring notes requesting early dismissal to the school office before school in order to obtain an early-out slip.  The early-out slip should be given to the homeroom teacher at the start of the school day.  Parents or an authorized adult must come into the office to sign the student out.
