Welcome to September!
Welcome to September! Hopefully all of you have a had a chance to read the Back-to-School letter if you weren't able to attend the evening sessions on August 31st. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Please encourage your child to write all assignments in his or her planner and to sign it each night. We seem to have several students not completing homework assignments on time, so I'm sure that will resolve itself soon!
Thank you for helping to encourage participation in liturgies. I know the students will follow your wonderful example in their singing and responses at Mass:)
Mrs. Miller and I have decided that the quizzes for Simple Solutions (both Math and English) will take place the next day AFTER the 4th lesson for that week is due. That way, the students have a bit more time to review their lessons for the week. Therefore, the quizzes may take place on a Monday or other day of the week. This may also give the students time to ask questions for some items they may find challenging.
We have been informed that we have a new DARE Officer! Off. Regina Cowan will start with both 5th grades in January, therefore our graduation from DARE will probably be in April. We will let you know if that changes. Our DARE day will still be Thursday.
So far, things seem to be going well in 5th grade. I am enjoying your children. I hope they are enjoying their job as students in Grade 5!
Many Blessings,
Mrs. Dorough
